Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Schedule: 7am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday

Location: Bowerston Facility


Assumes responsibility for implementation of the manufacturing process and improvements to the process during the complete fabrication cycle. Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as railroad safety products, railroad right of way products and various other metal mechanical products


  • Ensures all design and quality requirements are satisfied and can be manufactured in a cost effective manner.
  • Identifies facility and tooling requirements.
  • Identifies manufacturing methods and/or develops new manufacturing methods.
  • Identifies material requirements and supports procurement.
  • Monitors performance and controls costs of manufacture.
  • Prepares technical procedures and documents.
  • Resolves any problems encountered during manufacture.
  • Provides status and schedule support of products during the complete manufacturing cycle
  • Works with sales in development of new products.
  • Purchases and maintains inventory.
  • Works on building and facility projects as required.
  • Follow all procedures and work instructions as they apply to position.
  • Assist in evaluating, implementing and maintaining machinery and facility.


  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Pro-E, Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • KNOWLEDGE: The ability to learn new things and accept new projects is necessary.  Good communication, organization and people skills along with math, technical and problem-solving skills are required for a person to effectively perform the duties of the job.
  • SUPERVISION: The person holding this position is supervised through meetings with the Vice President of Manufacturing. Must be self motivated in performance of duties with limited supervision.

Principal Contacts:

  • Inside Contacts – Inside contacts, which make up 65% of all personal contact, include plant employees and people involved in engineering, sales, management, computer and accounting.
  • Outside Contacts – This position involves outside contact with customers on the technical level, as well as contact with many technical sales people (35%).

Job Conditions:

  • Most of the duties of this position are performed in an engineering office, which includes PCs, CAD equipment and reference material.  There are occasional visits to vendor facilities.

Assembler / General Laborer

Schedule: 1st shift, 7am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday

Location: Bowerston Facility


  • Assist in all departments as needed; general plant maintenance.
  • Assist/helper in shipping department.
  • Assembles products as needed and package products for shipment.
  • Ability to work with hands, mechanically inclined.
  • Verifying and preparing packages for outbound materials for our customers per work order.
  • Receives, verifies and stocks inbound materials.
  • Sorts and places products on shelves and in bins according to a predetermined sequence.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility requirements includes: standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
  • Computer skills. 


  • All candidates/positions require high school diploma or GED.
  • All candidates must have valid driver’s license and dependable means of transportation.
